Sutures

If dissolving sutures (stitches) have been used by the dentist, they can take anywhere from a few days to more than a couple of weeks to dissolve.

If they've been there for a while, and the wounds appear to have healed, and the stitches are irritating you, then we can remove them for you. We'd prefer that you didn't try to remove them yourself.

Sometimes they can unravel, or they may tear through the gums.
If this happens, as long as there is no profuse bleeding, then there is no need to panic.

If in doubt, please call us, or send an email.
