Swelling
It is normal for there to be swelling after the removal of teeth, especially if the procedure was difficult, or where the gum needed to be cut and stitched.
Swelling can last up to about a week, and it commonly progresses through the colours of the rainbow as it resolves.
During this time, you will likely have limited jaw opening and limited chewing ability. This means that you will be living on soup and other soft foods.
The simple rule of thumb here is that if it hurts, ease up.
